The Sacred Art of Temple

March 15, 2019 Comments Off on The Sacred Art of Temple

Until you destroy your body, you don’t learn to appreciate it. Treat the body, like a temple because the body is so beautiful. If and when you understand your body then you will respect it. The body is like a bud, until the sun rises it will not bloom, until it blooms it will not be beautiful or give perfume. So respect it, take care of it.

Bikram Choudhury

From antiquity, the art of Temple in some form or another has been found to have been practiced. The Egyptians were well noted for their desire for sterility, through the use of botanicals, as a way to clean and celebrate their very existence. The ancient Greeks and Romans used botanical oils as well, for bathing the body. They would rub the oils on their bodies, then remove the oils and dirt with a instrument called a strigil.

Of course it takes no awareness to understand the diverse importance of water, for survival. Water was deemed so important to our ancient ancestors that aqua ducts were built, bath houses created and the art of purifying the “Temple (Our Body)” was even used ritualistically. The idea of ritual cleansing and perceiving the body as a temple is timeless in most belief systems around the world. The act of cleansing to clean away physical and spiritual dirt is not only relevant back then but till this day. Using water and botanicals/soaps/oils etc…not only cleans our temples but is essential to cleansing the heart, mind and spirit.

It is right here that I would like to personally say Welcome to Crystalline Harlot, my Healing Apothecary. With great joy and love I present my first blog post.

Since child hood I have long been captivated by the immense feeling that happens after bathing. We will find that all aspects of our temple become integrated, de-stressing and purifying our skin, muscles, bones, and most importantly our spirit, during and after bath. We need water beyond consumption and routine bathing, but for rebirth and growth. In hope to help connect us to Water and Earth consciousness, I have come to love and create specialty products for our sacred “Temples”. I hope you enjoy this sacred space while visiting and may you leave resonating on a more primal level of cleansing.

In Templeharlot’s Specialty Shop ,You will find Organic, Natural, Vegan/Vegetarian body products designed for body, mind, heart and spirit. Here is a simple bathing ritual to try:

Ritual Bath For Renewal

पवित्रतरी करोति In ancient Sanskrit this translates to Purify or to consecrate in some holy form.

This ritual bath will powerfully guide your mind and spirit to creating a sacred space within the element of earth and water.

Gather Supplies:

  1. Candle of choice
  2. Incense of your choice
  3. Dried herbs and oils such as New Moon Bath Tea Bag Soak
  4. Crystals, rocks or anything you feel connected to. this will charge your bath
  5. A bath tub or shower
  6. Music that is meditative and/or relaxing, of your choice

I truly love this! I should say this every morning when I wake up. What a lovely sentiment to start your day :)
  • Bath while envisioning the washing away of any negativity and anything that does not serve well your purpose. Remain in the water until you feel it time to finish (you will know). All that you release will go down the drain, leaving you purified and cleansed.

Blessed Be Friends Of Renewal,
