So the story goes like this….
When season permits, I try to use my home grown ingredients to create my natural soaps; as I know the importance of the energy of intent and ingredients that goes into the alchemy of soap making. Having a beautiful long piece of fresh aloe, a perfectly ripe avocado and about a gazillion cucumbers from my garden, I prepared to make soap. After I gathered all my ingredients, and noticed that I was out of an oil. In a pinch I used lard (pig fat), left over from a Tamale making event from many moons ago (before I went Vegan). Being all my products are vegan and vegetarian, I had mixed emotions and could not stop thinking about the life sacrificed, that went into this soap. The energy was heavier in a way, but aesthetically, what a nice bar of soap it turned out to be. Since that experience, I have tweaked the recipe, eliminating any animal products. Giving honor to the pigs, I named this soap, “This Little Piggy Went to the Market”- to buy Aloe, Cucumber, and Avocado, making this a happy and fantastic bar of soap. All ingredients are Natural, Organic, and Vegan.
